Fall is the best time of year for star-gazing. The skies are usually clear and the temperatures are usually nice enough for staying outside and not getting eaten up by bugs or freezing to death.
Rich and I like to lay on the hammock and look at the stars from our yard. It'll be better when we have a farm in the country and no light pollution, but for now, we'll take what we can get.
We were laughing here, because, in the photo I took before this one, Rich looked like a deer caught in headlights. He wasn't expecting my bright flash after having his eyes adjust to the darkness of the night sky.
And just to show you what dorks we are...Rich wears socks and shoes with his flannel pj bottoms, and I go barefoot while still covering up with a down-filled throw. And one of my pant legs is missing...apparently.
It was so nice out, if I wasn't such a wuss and scared of robbers and wild animals and mass murderers, I totally would have spent the night on the hammock. So peaceful and quiet and dark, and truly awesome to feel the breeze and see the stars overhead. God's creation is truly wonderful.
