Mother-Son Date Night at Chik-Fil-A

I love Chik-Fil-A! They have good food, they are a Christian company, and they have fun activities. Recently, they hosted a mother-son date "knight." I reserved my spot way ahead of time, Chik-Fil-A events get filled up pretty quickly. Connor ended up with pneumonia, so Brandon and I went without him to this special event. (don't worry, Connor got souvenirs, and a date with Mommy at a later date.)

The them of the evening was "knights in shining armor". There was a balloon artist there who made swords and shields, among other things, for all the boys.

Brandon and I enjoyed our meal as well as the table decorations and fun suggested by Chik-Fil-A. We had a shield that we could color and design with our own coat of arms. We also had a list of mother-son questions to answer that mostly had to do with what heroism is and what makes a hero. The candle holder was a crown which we could take with us when we left.

I forgot my camera that night....grrrr....so all these photos are courtesy of the Chik-Fil-A employee who took them for their Facebook page.
Brandon with a shield and sword. He chose for me to be a princess he could rescue. He could have had me put in the stocks as many other sons chose for their mothers- hah! The Chik-Fil-A cow was there and had plenty of sword fights with the little boys. Brandon enjoyed shaking his hoof and chatting with him.

Brandon waits patiently for his gift to Connor, a red set of balloon knight equipment. This little girl who was at Chik-Fil-A jumped in front of everyone else waiting and demanded a pink cat. It was quite funny (sad) how badly behaved she was, but I was proud of Brandon and the other boys for not complaining and for waiting patiently.

It was a really fun night (knight) and I am so thankful that I was able to take Brandon. Time spent one-on-one with each of my kids is precious. These growing years go way too fast!

That is such a cool activity! I love that you and Rich take time to do individual outings with your kids. Even with all their creativity and sweetness, I know your life is VERY busy and your hands are full. I'm so thankful parents like you take time to actually play and interact with their kids and not just toss them in a room!
