I love that above picture, Hannah is trying to speed things up by behaving like a Flintstone.! And no, we didn't wear helmets. I've been on four-wheelers all my life, Rich and I still take the old one out every time we hit the farm in NY and I have never worn a helmet. Bad, bad example!!! Do what I say, not what I do, hmm? We really didn't go very fast, I mean seriously....you don't have to go very fast to beat a golf cart.
Later, we headed back to my Nanny's house for pizza with the rest of the crew. Hannah dragged out a box of old photos. The girls enjoyed seeing all the old photos of familiar faces. We had a few laughs over some of the crazy pictures from "days of yore."
Cousin Joshua (Jennifer's twin) is quite relaxed as the kids play around him...and on him.
The boys play Playstation with their cousin Tanner (Joshua's son).
Photo of the boys....which Mira totally photo bombed (she loves getting her picture taken). Tanner (Joshua's son), Grant (Jennifer and Jim's son), and my boys.
The ladies decided to start a game in the kitchen. I love this photo of Hannah laughing so hard she couldn't write her answer down. This game is GREAT with a crowd, it's called "Things." We laughed so hard both times we played it.
Men are boring. While we were playing and laughing in the kitchen, this is what they were doing. Ho hum.
Time spent making memories with family is the best. You can totally put your foot in your mouth, say all the wrong things, and they will still love you. You can eat like a pig and they will still respect you. You can spend 12 hours shopping together and they will still spend more time with you after that. I love my family!

So glad you went and had a great time! And I'm impressed that the men aren't all asleep!
Boring? It's called being intellectual! You women should give it a try at least once before bashing it.
Hi Lydia,
I stumbled upon your blog, and reading few of the entries has given me a very meaningful inside perspective about having a child affected by spina bifida. I am inspired by your courage and touched by the pictures of your family that I had to reach out. My name is Courtney Beyer, and I am the new Study Coordinator at VitaPath Genetics. Earlier this year, we successfully completed the first phase of our landmark study looking at the genetic factors contributing to spina bifida. In conjunction with our academic collaborators at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI), Stanford, UC Berkeley and UCSF, we recruited over 1,000 women and their child affected by spina bifida to participate.
Our first phase produced promising results but, we believe that it is appropriate for us to replicate this study in a second, independent group of mothers. We are beginning our second study in early January and are reaching out to more mothers to participate. In order to reach as many women as possible, I would very much appreciate if you could include news about the study in your blog. I also have banners and buttons if you would like to post something on your site. In addition it would be great to connect with you via facebook (search SB Genetics) and twitter @sbgenetics.
I would like to get in contact with you to share more information and answer any questions that you may have. Please email me at CBeyer@vpgenetics.com and visit www.sbgenetics.org. This website gives an in depth explanation of the study as well as a link if you are interested in enrolling. Thank you for taking the time to read my note and I am greatly looking forward to being in contact.
Warmest regards and happy holidays,
Courtney
