It's a Baby Shower!

Some friends and I threw a baby shower in my home on January 5. My friend Jen will be delivering her 4th daughter on the 25th of this month. We are all so excited about meeting Lillian Michelle!

Jen, looking radiant as she waits for Michelle to pin her corsage on.

Here is the gift table before gifts arrived. The scrapbook paper banner featuring Lillie's name and the shower invitation is attached to my window frame with twine and clothespins.

The food table looks lovely with a tie-dyed Senegalese tablecloth and galvanized bucket of mini roses. A raggedy garland hangs overhear. We drank Paula Deen's strawberry punch out of mason jars using striped paper straws. We served two types of hot dip with bread and crackers, mini quiches, mini cupcakes, sugar cookies with pastel sprinkles, and a fruit tray. There was also an assortment of lollipops and chocolate wafers.

I placed some special goodies for Jen on the coffee table; pen, tissues, notebook (to record the gifts received), and thank you cards. I made the little "gumball" cannister to hold the party mints, and of course I had to buy a pink candle.

Don't forget to take a goodie bag as you leave!

Jen is gorgeous! She might hate me for posting this picture but she will appreciate later seeing her pregnant self.  She's a coffee-loving gal after my own heart. Rich and I have so enjoyed getting to know her and her hubby, Tim, over the past five years. They are dear friends and very special to us. We love their daughters and are so excited about meeting Lillie! I'm ready to hold that sweetie!

Congratulations, Tim and Jen!
And you too, Leah, Emma, and Maddy! Can't wait to see your new baby sister!

What We're Memorizing This Month

Romans 12:9-21
9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
